Privacy Policy

This policy covers Flipic (the version downloaded from flipic.app and GitHub), Vistello (the same app on the Mac App Store), the flipic.app website and the pay.flipic.app payment service. They are run by Flipic Team.

The app

Your photos are read and shown only on your Mac and are never uploaded. The app has no account, no ads, no analytics and no crash reporting, and it doesn’t collect device information.

Star ratings are written into each photo’s XMP data, or into a matching .xmp file for camera RAW; marks are Finder tags; settings are stored on your Mac. All of this stays on your computer.

Flipic is offline by default. Only when you turn on automatic update checks or click Check for Updates does it request a small file from flipic.app that contains the latest version number. The request carries nothing but the app’s version number and stores no cookies. When you click Update Now, the installer is downloaded from GitHub.

Vistello doesn’t check for updates; the App Store handles them. Apart from the App Store handling a Pro purchase or restore, it doesn’t go online.

Buying Pro

On flipic.app, payment is handled by Stripe. Stripe collects your card details; we never see the full card number. After you pay, pay.flipic.app reads the order’s email address and order ID from Stripe and generates your license key. The key contains the email and order ID and is checked offline on your Mac. We keep no separate database; order records stay in our Stripe account and are used to recover keys, handle refunds and keep accounts. See the Stripe Privacy Policy.

When you recover a key, the email and last four card digits (or receipt number) you enter are used only to look up the order in Stripe and are not stored. To stop repeated guessing, the recovery page limits requests per minute by IP address; the address is not stored.

On the App Store, Apple handles the payment and your account. We don’t receive your name, email or payment details. See the Apple Privacy Policy.

The website

flipic.app is hosted on Cloudflare. It uses no cookies, no analytics scripts, no ads and no third-party fonts. Cloudflare keeps access logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security and operation; we only look at total visits and downloads.

Questions and deletion

To find out what we hold about your order, or to ask us to delete it, email support@flipic.app. Payment records we must keep for tax and accounting law are excepted.

Changes

If the way the app or services handle information changes, we’ll update this page and its effective date.
